A positive link between progress in market-oriented reforms and cumulative growth has been recorded across transition countries. This paper shows that progress in transition in one period can significantly affect growth in the subsequent period, and this growth can act as an immediate spur to further reform.

The purpose of the paper is to re-formulate traditional Goodwin predator-prey model by including a specific differential equation describing technological progress in deterministic and/or stochastic way. A base of this system contains such variables in interest as a rate of employment, a share of labour, and different forms of a rate of the technological progress.
