CER organized the next open lecture on Feb 1, 2008. This time it was dedicated to energy security issues in Eurasia. Vladimir Milov, the President of the Institute of Energy Policy (Russian Federation), was invited to lecture on the subject.

CER organized an open lecture entitled “Islam and Transformation. Islamic Political and Legal Thought in Search of Answers to Contemporary Challenges” on January 8, 2008. Dr. Sukiainen, Professor of Law at the State University—Higher School of Economics, Moscow, lectured on the topic. Dr. Sukiainen specializes on Islamic Law, comparative law, Islamic finance, human rights, Islam in Russia and Muslim world.
