Economics Education and Research Consortium
- Brief description
- The Economics Education and Research Consortium (EERC) was created in 1995 to educate a new generation of economists to support reforms in economics education and research capabilities in the CIS.
- Goals and objectives
- EERC's mission is to support the renewal of the economics profession in the CIS, to foster a culture of peer review and open scientific exchange, to encourage individual economists to work at the frontiers of their discipline and subject research to international standards of excellence, and engage academic economists in the public policy debate process, at the national and local levels.
- Areas of activities
- EERC’s Research Network supports original policy-relevant studies, organizes trainings, seminars and research workshops, promotes dialogue among academics and policymakers, and invests in creating electronic information for researches – access to scholarly literature, data and peers. In 2000, a programme was launched focused on supporting a dialogue between participants of research networks and government and local authorities.
