IET—Seminar on World Credit Crisis
November 16, 2007 09:43

IET hosted a seminar on the world credit crisis and its implications for Russia. The seminar concluded that given the current macroeconomic situation, the unstable world financial market will not have serious impacts on Russia in medium-term trends. However, Russia might suffer from a slowing down of the world economy that would be followed by price decreases for energy supplies. Besides, the imbalance of the current account and the increase of inflow of the private capital in the Russian Federation will inevitably lead to the change of the monetary and credit policy model conducted by the Bank of Russia.
