CASE—ENEPO Conference

CASE co-organized the first conference within the EU Eastern Neighbourhood: Economic Potential and Future Development (ENEPO) project with CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies) on November 30, 2007. The conference focused on issues of migration and presented one of the latest papers written within the project. The paper is entitled "The Intersection between Justice and Home Affairs and the European Neighborhood Policy". The author of the paper discusses the underlying logic and objectives attributed to cooperation in Justice and Home Affairs (JHA) derived from the viewpoints voiced during the formation of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). Also, the author recommends to draft an Action-Oriented Paper on JHA cooperation with the ENP countries that would indicate the way the EU intends to balance the conflicting objectives and instruments that are currently present in the JHA provisions of the ENP.

ACIPS - The Launch of a New Project

ACIPS Center for Policy Research started the implementation of a project called “Integration Perspectives and Synergic Effects of European Transformation in the Countries Targeted by the EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policies“ in cooperation with the Centre for Enlargement Studies (CENS) at the Central European University.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich announced that integration to Europe is a priority of external policy of his country. “This process is an important constituent for policy modernization of Ukraine, base for national platform of strategic development of the country. The rest is secondary”, - said Yanukovich during negotiations with the European Union delegation in the framework of Ukraine-EC Summit in Kiev.
