May 14, 2008 - May 31, 2008On May 14, 2008 ICEG European Center held an annual conference on “Growth Patterns and Capital Formation in the Eastern EU Member States” in Brussels. The conference focused on special features and roots of growth from capital investments and formation in the EU Eastern member states in comparison with the rest of the EU countries. The presentations analysed the dynamics and composition of FDI inflows and outflows, impacts of FDI inflows, the relocation of FDI, industrial structure of investments, credit growth and investment booms.

April 3, 2008 - April 4, 2008ADB's flagship annual publication, Asian Development Outlook 2008 (ADO) released today, forecasts developing Asian economies to expand at 7.6% in 2008 and 7.8% in 2009. The region posted its highest growth in almost two decades in 2007 – averaging 8.7%.

The purpose of the event was to present and discuss a new policy brief drafted by Dr. Larry Wong, an international consultant from the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (Malaysia). The paper has the same title as the event : “Uzbekistan on the way to economic knowledge: ensuring a stable growth in 21st century”.
