EPIN Training Workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The EPIN Training Workshop was help on 28-29 April 2008 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. UNDP Uzbekistan Country office and Center for Economic research hosted the event. The workshop trained selected candidates (EPIN young researchers) on proposal writing and dissemination techniques, basic project management, types of policy documentation and many other interesting topics that contributed to the capacity building of the young researchers.

What hinders the development of analytical schools in Tajikistan?

EPIN 20.07.2007 - To boost cooperation among international expert communities, first of all, it is necessary to develop national analytical schools, say experts from Tajikistan. At the end of June, according to “Asia Plus” news agency, a new web resource was launched. The resource unites institutes of economic policy in CIS, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. The web resource www.epinetwork.org was created in the framework of “Central Asian Gateway” project to assist cooperation and capacity building of think-tanks.

EPIN CER 04.06.2007 - Center for Economic Research (Uzbekistan) in cooperation with Economic Policy Institutes Network (EPIN) has conducted a training course on Public Policy Analysis. The training was delivered by Mr. Leonid Polishchuk, Associate Director, IRIS Center, University of Maryland, USA. EPIN 28.05.2007 - This training was held in the framework of the Managerial and Administrative Capacity Development component. The training was organized by EPIN jointly with Economic Education and Research Consortium (EERC) in Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan and lasted for two days (12-14 June) in 2006. The aim of the workshop was to train EPIN members on the issue of strategic challenges facing policy research institutions and develop essential aspects of managing Economic Policy Institutes (EPI) in target institutions. The training was prepared and delivered by Telepraxis, Canada.

EPIN 28.05.2007 - This meeting was held in the framework of the Research Capacity Development component. The meeting succeeded in bringing together target and resource institutions for a joint three-day training. The representatives from resource institutions delivered the training to the members of the target institutions on writing successful project proposals, working with literature and doing research on literature, writing effective policy papers, and other related topics. The event took place on 1-3 Dec 2005.

EPIN 28.05.2007 - EPIN members held a meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan on 19-21 September 2006. The meeting was called “EPIN Final Mentoring Meeting” and brought together experts and researchers from EPIN member think-tanks, where they presented papers on socio-economic issues of the countries they were representing.
