ICEG—Annual Conference on “Growth Patterns and Capital Formation in the Eastern EU Member States”.

On May 14, 2008 ICEG European Center held an annual conference on “Growth Patterns and Capital Formation in the Eastern EU Member States” in Brussels. The conference focused on special features and roots of growth from capital investments and formation in the EU Eastern member states in comparison with the rest of the EU countries. The presentations analysed the dynamics and composition of FDI inflows and outflows, impacts of FDI inflows, the relocation of FDI, industrial structure of investments, credit growth and investment booms.

A range of the topics linked to capital formation were analysed from academic, policy maker, and business aspects. The speakers included representatives of academic community and international organisations (European Commission, OECD, World Bank, UNCTAD), and national authorities.
