EPIN Training Workshop in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

The EPIN Training Workshop was held on 28-29 April 2008 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The EPIN Training Workshop was held on 28-29 April 2008 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. UNDP Uzbekistan Country office and Center for Economic research hosted the event. The workshop trained selected candidates (EPIN young researchers) on proposal writing and dissemination techniques, basic project management, types of policy documentation and many other interesting topics that contributed to the capacity building of the young researchers.

The event also provided a forum for the researchers who will soon be involved in the research paper writing under the EPIN Small Grant Scheme to discuss research concepts with assigned mentors. At the end of the training the participants discussed the ways to strengthen the EPIN network and identify future directions and strategy.

The researchers from the following EPIN target institutions participated in the training:

The training was provided by the resource institutions: International Center for Economic Growth, European Center (Hungary) and Institute for Economic Studies (Czech Republic).

An online training for the participants preceded the workshop (for more details of the online training see http://edu.epinetwork.org ). The on-line tool was designed to find out the workshop expectations of the researchers, provide reading materials on policy paper writing and a forum page to exchange opinions among researchers and trainers/mentors.
